The Mobility Roadshow 2015: determined to get you moving, whatever your disability

Now in its 32nd year, the Mobility Roadshow returns to Donington Park this summer, bringing a huge range of transportation solutions for consumers with restricted mobility.

Taking place over the weekend of the 25-27th June in Derby’s iconic Donington Park, the Mobility Roadshow has been organised by registered charity Mobility Choice and brings together some of the biggest names in car manufacturing and vehicle adaptation. From Ford, Hyundai and Vauxhall, to Sirus Automotive, Elap Mobility and Lewis Reed, the Mobility Roadshow features all the big names, determined to get you moving, whatever your disability.

Also new this year is the exciting addition of Get Going Live! the roadshow’s sister project, aimed at young, novice drivers aged 15 and up. As disabled drivers are allowed to drive at 16, one year earlier than their able-bodied peers, Get Going Live! offers aspiring young drivers the chance to test-drive adapted vehicles on Donington’s legendary motorsport circuit. With professionals on hand in these dual-controlled vehicles to make sure you stay safe at all times, Get Going Live! is an excellent opportunity to explore your mobility options in a safe, yet exhilarating environment.

After a few laps around the race track you can move onto the Donington Exhibition Hall, where you’ll be able to explore a huge range of mobility aids, from wheelchairs and scooters, to access ramps and wheelchair boot lifts. Not only will there be hundreds of hands-on product demonstrations to take part in, there’ll also be industry professionals at every stand to introduce you to the latest technology and gadgets. Trusted industry-leading companies such as Invacare, Gerald Simonds Healthcare and Cyclone will also be on hand to introduce you to their latest manual and electric wheelchairs for children and adults, while TGA Mobility will also be in residence to show you their range of award-winning mobility scooters.

This year, Get Going Live! will also play host to Aaron Morgan, the only disabled racing driver to have competed in the Production BMW Championships. Joining Get Going Live! as an ambassador, Morgan will be there to answer all of your motorsport questions and will even be getting behind the wheel himself to help young disabled people discover the joys of driving: “As I race at Donington Park, being able to test drive accessible cars around the motorsport circuit for free is an amazing experience not to be missed! Get Going Live! is a ‘must attend’ opportunity for young people who are looking for their first adapted car.”

Free to attend, the Mobility Roadshow and Get Going Live! are the perfect events to attend if you’re considering purchasing a new wheelchair or adapted vehicle. With thousands of products to choose from, whether you purchase on the day or just want some inspiration for the future, the brands and experts at the Mobility Roadshow will give you all the advice you need and help you to have some fun along the way.

The Mobility Roadshow takes place at Donington Park from the 25 – 27th June. To sign up for news about the event and for the chance to win an iPad, visit www.mobilityroadshow.co.uk.
