UPDATE: Naidex 2018 will be on the 25th and 26th April 2018 – you can get FREE Naidex tickets here.

The time is fast approaching for the launch of Naidex 2016, so it’s time to get your name down for the UK’s largest disability, rehabilitation and homecare event.

It will have more than 200 exhibitors showcasing the latest products and innovations in independent living and assistive technology. And guess who else will be there? Disability Horizons!

With free entrance for two days of the show for you, your family or friends, it’s undoubtedly the best opportunity of the year to test out the latest innovations and meet hundreds of big companies.

The free event takes place at the NEC Birmingham from 26th – 28th April and registration is now open, via the show’s recently re-launched and new look Naidex website.

There are whole host of reasons why Naidex is a key date for the diary, but take a look at 5 of the top reasons to attend:

  1. Browse more than 200 exhibitors showcasing well-known brands and innovative products that will be seen for the first time at Naidex.
  2. Explore the Market Place and try out the latest products you are interested in.
  3. Solve your everyday challenges by keeping up to date with the latest developments and innovations within assistive technology and the independent living sector.
  4. Listen to inspirational speakers and leading experts that will demonstrate how they have overcome adversity to lead the most fulfilling independent lives.
  5. Use the opportunity to share your experiences with peers and gain valuable advice.

So, what’s new for 2016?

In partnership with TGA Mobility, Naidex will be opening its Mobility Test Track for the first time ever, giving visitors the opportunity to test wheelchairs and mobility scooters to find the right solution for them and their individual needs.

Also new this year, Naidex is delighted to be introducing the Sports and Activity Zone, in partnership with Let’s Play. An interactive and topical feature perfect during the run up to the 2016 Paralympic Games, visitors will be invited to try their hand at some disability activities, such as Powerchair Football, Wheelchair Basketball and Boccia, giving you a chance to try new sports and activities they may not have considered before.

There will also be further chances to discover more about the activities, including finding your local club, volunteering prospects, and answers to any questions you may have about the activity.

Returning to Naidex

The team behind Naidex is delighted to announce the return of the ever popular Car Zone and Test Track – back for the third year running! Whether you’re looking for a new specially adapted vehicle or you’re after some advice from our on-hand experts on what’s available and what exactly you should be looking for, the Car Zone will be able to provide you with the answers.

Key motoring brands present in the 2016 Car Zone will include Sirus Automotive, Lewis Reed, Gowrings, Allied Vehicles and Vapor Ricon Europe. There will also be leading support from organisations such as Motability.

New product news for 2016

If you’re looking for some of the newest products on the market, the Innovation Trail is the perfect place to view pioneering products around the Naidex show floor. Explore first-time seen and UK product launches and see, test and experience all before the rest of the UK. As a taster some of the ‘new gear’ that you can expect to see at the show includes:

Eyeware Tech SA: a software package enabling those with limited mobility to control computers with increased autonomy, flexibility, and productivity, using only head movements and facial expressions.

Genny: the world’s only Active Powered Wheelchair and the only device in the world licensed by Segway.

Loopwheels: shock-absorbing wheelchair wheels, for a smoother ride. Loopwheels help you push over uneven streets, rough tracks, grass and gravel paths, with less effort.

MOTOmed muvi: the first device of its type to offer simultaneous arm and leg training. The ability to work the whole body in one session reduces therapy time but offers more effective training results.

As well as seeing some of the newest products, the Market Place showcases some small products and innovations that consumers can purchase directly from the show. Find, try and purchase every day goods directly from manufacturers and suppliers. Some of the top returning exhibitors will include: TGA Mobility, Ottobock, Sunrise, Kymco, ArjoHuntleigh and NRS, with exciting new UK and international exhibitors, such as: Rewalk (Germany), LIW Care (Poland), Vassilli (Italian), Trekinetic all terrain (UK), GennyMobility (Italian/UK) and Permobil (UK).
