Nimbus Disability, the organisation that created the Access Card, is pleased to announce that four theme parks run by Merlin Entertainment have now joined the growing list of Access Card providers in the UK – and you can get a £2.50 discount through Disability Horizons.
Access Card holders can now join the registration scheme at these Merlin venues by sending in details of their Access Card when submitting their application to the scheme.
The four Merlin theme parks collaborating in this scheme are said to have wheelchair access, accessible toilets, hearing loops, Ride Access Passes for people who are unable to stand in queues and allow PAs and assistant dogs.
Martin Austin, Managing Director of Nimbus Disability, said:
“We’re thrilled to finally be working with Merlin – ever since we started, Access Card holders have been really vocal about getting Merlin on board so it’s great to be able to deliver on this. We hope this is the start of a great working relationship with them”.
You can get £2.50 OFF an Access Card using the discount code DHSHOP.
What is an Access Card?
An Access Card is a type of identification that can be used to discretely share any additional needs you may require due to a disability of health condition.
This could include being accompanied by a PA or assistant/guide dog, wheelchair access, accessible toilets, hearing loops, braille or any other support.
Other organisations who have benefited from the scheme include BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, Sheffield City Council and The University of Derby.

The Access Card scheme can be used in a variety of places and events. Whether it’s booking tickets for a concert or festival, attending a sporting event, visiting a museum or even using it as ID to get your Covid-19 vaccine.
With lockdown restrictions easing, now is the best time to start planning your next day out or summer getaway.
On the Disability Horizons Shop, we are pleased to be able to offer a discount voucher code for the Access Card.
You can simply apply online or over the phone, provide evidence of your disability or health condition and use the discount code DHSHOP to get £2.50 off.
